Event Details
On March 2, 2025, Firefly Aerospace, headquartered in Cedar Park, Texas, became the first commercial company to successfully land on the Moon. Carrying 10 NASA science and technology instruments, Firefly’s Blue Ghost lander then operated for 14 days on the Moon’s surface and enabled several first-of-its-kind demonstrations, including tracking GPS signals on the Moon for the first time, unlocking new ways to mitigate hazardous lunar dust, and robotically drilling and collecting science deeper into the lunar surface than ever before. This mission not only marked the longest commercial operations on the Moon to date but also set the tone for the future of commercial exploration across cislunar space.
Joseph Marlin, Deputy Blue Ghost Chief Engineer at Firefly Aerospace, will shed light on how this bold, innovative team of Fireflies accomplished this incredible feat and how the company is ramping up for more missions to the Moon and beyond.
This event is for adults and youth ages 10 and up.
