Event Details
Led by the Cedar Park Police Department, this class will teach attendees the basics of self-defense, including:
- The power of awareness and ways to avoid harm.
- Boundary setting by using assertive words and body language to stop intrusive behaviors.
- Common self-defense tools available on the civilian market.
- Physical self-defense techniques to end an attack and get to safety.
This class is both discussion-based and interactive with opportunities to role-play scenarios and practice self-defense techniques on the mat.
This program is for ages 16 and up only. Registration required. Participants are recommended to be of at least average health and fitness level. Completed liability waivers to participate in this class are required.*
*Liability waivers are available as an attachment on this event page or upon arrival at the library. Completed liability waivers can be given to library staff when you arrive at the Event Space.
