Build your child’s communication skills through shared reading!
Storytime with AAC aims to support families/caregivers of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users in demonstrating language on their child’s AAC device, developing a love for reading, and building language through shared interaction and connection.
This program is led by Leander ISD with support from undergraduate and graduate students in the Speech-Language Pathology program at the University of Texas and Texas State University.
Who Can Attend?
This program is designed for AAC users ages 4-21. Siblings of AAC users are welcome. Please note that communicating with an AAC device is usually very slow, and we will pace storytime with this in mind.
A parent/caregiver must accompany the child at each session. Due to limited seating, we request only 1 caregiver per child.
Please complete a registration form for the participating AAC user.
